Road to Flavorchem
I started at Flavorchem in October 2020 after having worked as a CFO in the flavor industry for 13 years. When I was first promoted to CFO in 2008 at another company, I learned to not only manage Finance and Accounting but also Human Resources, IT and Legal. Having multiple department responsibilities taught me a lot about the challenges and opportunities throughout the organization which have served me well in my role at Flavorchem.
Navigating through COVID
I took over the responsibility of managing the procurement team in February of this year. Due to Covid and other global issues, this has been a really challenging year to keep our raw materials flowing to meet our customer’s demands. Every time a new issue pops up, we pull together customer service, sales, procurement and operations and problem solve how to best serve our customers. I find I am really learning about our supply chain and our customers much more quickly due to these problem-solving sessions.
Interest in Food & Beverage
I really like the fact that I can go to the grocery store and see the end products that our flavors and fragrances go into.
Outside of Flavorchem
Our family likes to get to the ocean every summer and we recently got back from Myrtle Beach. I also love trying new things, but it doesn’t always go well. I have had accidents with a car, boat, snowmobile, wave runner, kayak, ATV, bicycle, and skis – thankfully none were too serious!
